VULVA STORIES, AN INTIMATE EXHIBITION THAT OPENS DURING FEBRUARY 2025 AS PART OF BRIGIT: DUBLIN CITY CELEBRATING WOMEN FESTIVAL

Prepare to experience a magical exhibition of diverse artists, each sharing unique stories tied by one common thread: THEIR VULVAS!. Vulva Stories is a vibrant fusion of art, music, and words - a weaving together of joy, pain, power, and the wild ride of womanhood. It’s an electrifying celebration of raw energy is unapologetically real.

Curated by the trailblazing textile artist Tamara Fiabane, the exhibition explores themes of menstruation, pleasure, power, birth, trauma and the hormonal journey of life. Tamara, known for her provocative VULVA felting workshops and her Ireland AM appearance, shares her personal story of reclaiming power after a hysterectomy. Her work challenges taboos and reclaims the narrative of the female experience.

The exhibition also features intimate works by a powerhouse lineup of artists:

  • Birdwoman: A multidisciplinary artist fusing vibrant mixed media pieces with poetry and music on themes of matrescence and creative expression.

  • Sinead Giblin: A mixed media artist who is exploring how her life has been shaped by people treating her differently, just because of a vulva!

  • Isabel Fernandes: A queer artist celebrating bodily cycles and reclaiming self-love.

  • Sonya Mulligan: Uses paint and poetry to explore the rich and often unspoken

    experiences of women’s bodies and lives from a queer perspective.

  • Chloe Danga: Starscape vulvas reflecting connection, self-care, and womanhood.

  • Ives Garden: Irish artist exploring the experience of feminine standards, portraying

    internal regrowth from societal trauma through paint and mixed media on canvas.

VULVA Stories creates a bold space for connection, reflection, and the celebration of the vulva in all its glory.

Chapter 1: 2025

Chapter 2: Connections - Feb 2026

VULVA STORIES returns for its second chapter, “CONNECTIONS,” as part of the 2026 Brigit Festival, bringing an interactive, community-centered exhibition to the Temple Bar Collective basement in Dublin from 30 January running till the end of Feb 2026.

What began as an exhibition celebrating VULVAS and the personal stories connected to them through art has grown into a vibrant, supportive creative community. VULVA STORIES is a safe and inspiring space where the artists can explore identity, creativity, and connection without judgement. Visual art, textile work, spoken word, performance, and participatory workshops come together to form a living tapestry of shared experience.

This year introduces a powerful new feature: the Community Wall. Built collectively by participants throughout the festival, between the 24th and 29th of January, it will showcase artworks, writings, doodles, poetry, and textile pieces that reflect personal stories of connection, body autonomy, transformation, humour, grief, resilience, and joy. The wall will grow day by day, becoming a visible record of collective creativity and courage.

Alongside the exhibition, VULVA STORIES will host a programme of hands-on workshops run by Tamara from @toofabulousartandcrafts and live events from @birdwoman, including:

  • Vulva Art sessions with bunting-making, doodling, poetry, and collaborative pieces (24–25 January)

  • Vulva Felting workshop (29 January)

  • Exhibition opening night with live performance (30 January)

  • Peri/Menopause Chatter discussion space (31 January)

  • Community Wall Improv performance with Birdwoman (31 January)

  • Pre-Parade Funky Doll Making workshop inspired by Brigid traditions (1 February)

  • “F*ck Your Womb” interactive textile workshop (2 February)

Many events operate on a donation basis to ensure accessibility, with an emphasis on inclusion, care, and creative freedom.

Organisers Tamara Fiabane and Sinead Giblin describe the project as:

“A space where art becomes conversation, conversation becomes connection, and connection becomes community. VULVA STORIES exists to honour & share stories that are too often hidden or silenced, and to celebrate the power of making art together.”

VULVA STORIES – Chapter Two: “CONNECTIONS” aligns closely with the spirit of the Brigit Festival, honouring creativity, renewal, and community through contemporary feminist and body-positive artistic practice.
